The Fisherman's Wharf commercial block – located at the Yuantuojiao Resort in the county-level city of Qidong in East China's Jiangsu province – is 1.1 kilometers long and was built in the European architectural style.

In addition to its beautiful buildings and romantic scenery, it also has all the restaurants, food outlets, hotels, leisure and family entertainment facilities you need, making it one of the seven leading scenic spots in the resort.

"Since its trial operation started on March 1, the dome cinema at Fisherman's Wharf has received more than 5,000 tourists and the Octonauts theme park has received 14,000 tourists," said Shi Minjie, in charge of the new tourist landmark.

"Things are gradually settling into normal operations," Shi added.

A clear highlight of the wharf's cultural experience center, the dome cinema covers 500 square meters and can offer a highly immersive cinematic experience to a capacity audience of 60.

The visuals are powered by 12 8K (8,000-pixel resolution) projectors that are fitted discreetly to form a hemispheric screen of 15 meters in diameter. It is the first theater of its kind in Nantong and is designed to create strong audio-visual shocks and provide unique entertainment for viewers.

The theme park based on the Octonauts, a British animated deep sea children's adventure TV series, features a three-level building with a total floor space of more than 5,000 sq m and can accommodate more than 600 people.

The park reproduces original scenes from the animated series at the wharf and is decorated mainly in blue, making tourists feel refreshed and at ease.

The park has recreational facilities both indoors and outdoors. The indoor space is the Octonauts Paradise which is divided into "under the sea", "in the sea" and "on the sea", each on a different floor. The East Sea Adventure Park is the major outdoors attraction, featuring coastal scenes.

Moreover, a special area was also set up in the park to satisfy the need to entertain kids of different ages, especially younger children.

With the opening of the two major scenic spots and the gradual improvement of other projects on the wharf, Fisherman's Wharf in Yuantuojiao Resort is fast becoming a new tourism landmark in Qidong, which boasts exquisite seascapes, local delicacies and distinctive accommodation.
