The Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) transport ship Tembek from the Marshall Islands completed the unloading operation of 92,000 metric tons of liquefied natural gas and departed from Yangkou Port in Rudong, Jiangsu province, on Feb 26, marking that the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal in the port completed its first LNG unloading of the Year of the Horse.
After all the LNG unloaded by the first ship is vaporized, it is enough to meet the gas needs of about 8 million households for one month.
As the busiest natural gas hub in the Yangtze River Delta region, PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal currently owns six LNG storage tanks with a total capacity of 1.08 million cubic meters.
In recent years, its LNG unloading has surpassed 6.5 million tons annually, accounting for about 30 percent of Jiangsu's gas demand throughout the year.
To ensure safe and efficient unloading, the production, operations, and maintenance team at PetroChina Jiangsu LNG took early action to conduct a comprehensive examination and maintenance of the terminal facilities, ensuring that all systems and equipment were in optimal condition.
The company also established an efficient linkage mechanism with maritime, border inspection, customs, and other port units, providing solid guarantees for the ship's berthing and operation by sharing ship dynamics in advance and formulating precise berthing plans.
