Despite the scorching summer heat, construction at Yangkou Port is continuing at full speed, with a series of cooling measures introduced at construction sites to ensure the safety and well-being of workers while maintaining progress.

At the Guoxin Rudong LNG Receiving Station project site, located in an open, unshaded area by the sea, over 500 workers are provided with ample cooling supplies. "To ensure workers' health, we offer them green bean soup daily, adjust construction plans based on weather forecasts, and regularly conduct heatstroke prevention training," explained Shen Huayou, the project's safety director.

The station is Jiangsu's first self-invested LNG storage and peak-shaving project, expected to be finished by October. It will supply natural gas to the entire province, with a maximum daily output of 60 million cubic meters.

Meanwhile, PetroChina Jiangsu is working on a 200,000-cubic-meter LNG storage tank. It will increase the station's daily regasification capacity to 56.5 million cubic meters, enough to meet the province's residential and industrial gas needs for two days in emergencies.

At the GCL Huidong Rudong LNG Receiving Station, workers are also well-equipped with chilled water, herbal medicine drinks, and other cooling supplies. The dock's piling construction is now underway, and once completed, the station will have an annual handling capacity of 3.5 million tons.

At the Jinniu Dock project site, the project leader, Zuo Xin, said that in addition to shortening working hours, the site is equipped with misting vehicles for physical cooling, and the rest areas have large refrigerators stocked with unlimited ice-cold drinks and ice cream.

Once completed, the Jinniu Dock will feature two 50,000-ton general-purpose berths and one 50,000-ton multi-purpose berth, improving the transport capacity of materials needed for the coastal industry. The new facility will handle an annual throughput of 4.08 million tons, marking an end to the era of only offshore berths at Yangkou Port and greatly enhancing logistics infrastructure for local industrial needs.
