The PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal at Yangkou Port, Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province, achieved its highest-ever natural gas output in July. The terminal, which was established 14 years ago, sent out a total of 935.5 million cubic meters of natural gas, with plans to increase the volume further to around 950 million cubic meters in August.
The terminal's imported liquefied natural gas primarily serves residential and industrial needs in Jiangsu province, with about one-third of the supply allocated for electricity generation.
As production continues to expand steadily and demand recovers in China, LNG terminals across the country have been increasing their capacity. "We have built four new docks in addition to the existing ones, increasing our current annual capacity of 6-7 million tons," said Hou Jin, deputy director of Rudong Customs.
