Construction on the Jinniu Wharf at Yangkou Port is now 20 percent complete, according to Sui Chaoyue, the project leader.

The 2.3-billion-yuan ($317.63 million) project will see the construction of 13 berths for general and bulk cargo. The first phase features two 50,000-ton general berths and one 50,000-ton multipurpose berth, with an annual handling capacity of 4.08 million tons.

The first phase will primarily serve the transportation needs of industries in the port area and help establish an integrated logistics supply chain. It will also assist the port in attracting major projects.
