In the first three months of this year, Yangkou Port in Rudong, Nantong, Jiangsu province has recorded a 22.17 percent year-on-year increase in cargo throughput, reaching 2.8 million metric tons.

At the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG terminal, a constant flow of massive vessels from 26 countries and regions, including Qatar, Australia, and Russia, unload liquefied natural gas that will supply the Yangtze River Delta region. In the first quarter alone, the terminal handled 1.58 million tons of LNG, accounting for over 25 percent of consumption in Jiangsu. It has become a cornerstone gas provider for the region.

Meanwhile, since the beginning of this year, with several major projects reliant on ports coming into operation, the bulk and liquid cargo businesses at the port have continued to thrive. In the first quarter, general cargo throughput at the port reached 80,100 tons, on par with the same period last year. The throughput of liquid cargo was 1.15 million tons, representing a staggering 109.89 percent year-on-year increase.
