Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone has been pushing forward 118 key initiatives since the beginning of this year, focusing on investment attraction and project construction.

The zone's investment promotion personnel have been dispatched to major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu. As of mid-March this year, they have gathered information on more than 50 projects valued at over 500 million yuan ($69.23 million) each. Their goal for this year is to attract at least one project worth over 10 billion yuan, two projects worth over 5 billion yuan each, and more than 14 high-tech projects with total foreign investment exceeding $120 million.

Moreover, the development zone provides detailed services to local enterprises. For instance, to expedite the commencement of the 4-billion-yuan ultra-high molecular polyethylene fiber project, a provincial-level major project invested by Xingi Technology, leaders of Yangkou Port held consultations with the power supply department, delivering electricity four days ahead of schedule.

Similarly, Jiatong Energy, the world's largest producer of polyester filament yarn, imports over 10,000 metric tons of raw materials daily. In the event of adverse weather conditions, the company's production could be disrupted, with direct economic losses of over 10 million yuan per shutdown.

To address this issue, Yangkou Port has constructed two 50,000-ton docks in addition to the existing two 5,000-ton docks. Moreover, relevant government departments provide guidance on increasing ship calls and unloading ahead of typhoons and cold waves, ensuring no disruption to production and sales.
