Industrial growth aids Rudong's economic surge in 2023
The swift industrial growth in Rudong county propelled it to the 30th spot among China's top 100 counties in 2023.
The industrial output of the city located in Nantong, Jiangsu province, is expected to hit 196 billion yuan ($27.38 billion) in 2023, a 9.02 percent increase from the previous year.
Rudong, currently home to 260 enterprises capable of generating taxable sales surpassing 100 million yuan each, also houses eight companies able to contribute over 100 million yuan in taxes.
At the forefront of the new energy sector, Rudong played a pivotal role in meeting over one-third of Jiangsu's natural gas demands for the year. Additionally, leveraging wind power, the city transmitted more than 10 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to the East China region.
Furthermore, the city has been promoting digital transformation among its local enterprises. Companies like Zhongtian Technology have implemented a range of digital applications, including smart scheduling, production, self-inspection, and warehouse management.
As a testament to its commitment to industrial innovation, Rudong now hosts seven provincial-level intelligent factories, 18 provincial-level intelligent workshops, 33 municipal-level intelligent workshops, and 79 star-rated cloud-based enterprises.
