The vessel "Yijia 88" departed from the F1 berth at the Yangkou Port's general terminal on Nov 27 after unloading over 10,000 metric tons of pulp. This was the first time that such a large amount of cargo has been unloaded at the terminal.
To achieve the feat, the terminal made meticulous preparations in areas such as platform clearance, route planning, preventive measures, and emergency management.
Over a 72-hour period, on-site operators overcame challenges posed by the vessel's concealed compartments, high cargo layers, and the presence of various loose items to efficiently complete the task at hand.
The success not only marks a significant achievement for the general terminal but also elevates its overall proficiency in handling large and diverse cargo vessels of similar types. The terminal will remain committed to continuously enhancing its services and operational standards.
