PetroChina's newly-constructed LNG vessel, known as E'mei, recently accomplished a gas trial at the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG terminal at Yangkou Port in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province.

The vessel boasts a total length of 295 metric meters and has an area almost equivalent to three standard football fields. It has a cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters.

The gas trial process involved the transfer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the storage tank to the compartments of the E'mei vessel, aimed at testing the functionality of the cargo system. This trial marks the final procedure before the formal delivery of the ship.

"Gas trials for a new LNG vessel are a completely new area for both Jiangsu and PetroChina. We have established a specialized task force composed of operational planning, production technology, and maritime personnel, which is dedicating nearly two years to complete the entire process," said Qi Jiaming, deputy general manager of PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Co Ltd.

The gas trial also affirmed the terminal's capability to export LNG, which holds significant importance for the diversified development of Yangkou Port.
