Longyuan to quadruple wind power capacity in Rudong
China Longyuan Power Group signed an agreement to upgrade its wind farm in Rudong, a county in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on May 19.

After the upgrade, the wind farm's total installed capacity will be increased 4.5-fold, reaching 1,000 megawatts.
At the ceremony, Chen Huiyu, Party secretary of Rudong, welcomed the delegation of China Longyuan Power Group and expressed hope that the company will locate more of its projects in Rudong and attract new energy enterprises to set up operations in the county. Rudong will also provide the best government services possible for Longyuan, Chen added.
Tang Jian, chairman of China Longyuan Power Group, said that the company will make the project a model for wind farm capacity expansion and double its installed capacity in Rudong.
China Longyuan Power Group is one of the first companies in China to develop wind power. It has customers in 32 provinces in China as well as countries including Canada and South Africa.
Rudong boasts the largest offshore wind farms in Asia.
