The Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone – located in Rudong county in Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province – on Jan 4 signed a cooperation agreement with Jiangsu Sentay Environmental Science and Technology Co Ltd.

This was to build a liquefied natural gas, or LNG, cryogenic composite insulation materials plant.

Shao Feng, secretary of the Party working committee of the development zone, attended the signing ceremony and told it in a speech that the project would have high output efficiency and bright market prospects. Moreover, it would become an important link in Rudong's LNG industry supply chain, he added.

Cryogenic composite materials are widely used in LNG tanks and other fields. Officials said the successful completion of the project would be of great significance to realize the localization of LNG key materials.
