Yangkou port welcomes first LNG tanker of year

The PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal at Yangkou Port – located in Rudong county in Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province – on Jan 2 received its first LNG tanker of the year, the Beidou Star.
The tanker carried 70,000 metric tons of liquefied natural gas, or LNG, which can meet the daily gas consumption needs of 190 million households.
According to statistics, in 2022 the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal received a total of 82 LNG tankers, unloading 7.14 million tons of LNG and 16.31 million cubic meters of natural gas.
The gas transmission exceeded 10 billion cu m for the first time since it started operations in 2011 – equivalent to the annual gas consumption of 50 million households.
