Marshall Islands-registered liquefied natural gas, or LNG tanker AL DAFNA berthed at Yangkou Port – located in Rudong county, administered by Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – on Oct 25.

With a total length of 345.33 meters and a width of 53.8 meters, it carried 112,000 metric tons of LNG, which can meet the daily gas consumption of 300 million households.

By Oct 25, Yangkou Port had received 64 LNG tankers in the year and the LNG unloading volumes had topped 5.6 million tons, ranking it first among the 24 LNG terminal stations in operation on the Chinese mainland.

Now it has entered the late autumn season, the Yangtze River Delta is about to move into its gas consumption peak period. The Jiangsu LNG Terminal in Yangkou Port, a liquefied natural gas distribution hub on China's eastern coast, is preparing for maximum output.

But in order to ensure the safety of LNG tankers entering and leaving the port, the marine department of Rudong has strengthened its monitoring – through the comprehensive use of VTS, AIS, CCTV and other information systems – to effectively guarantee the safety of the LNG tankers.
