An ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber plant, to cost 2.39 billion yuan ($346.31 million), broke ground on July 30 in the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone in Rudong county – administered by Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province.
The paperwork for the plant – being funded and to be operated by Jiangsu Jiujiujiu Technology Co Ltd – was expedited efficiently. It acquired the necessary certificates and permits, such as the real estate certificate and construction engineering planning permit, within just one day – on July 29.
The smooth process was said to be the result of Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone's convenient and effective services.
The development zone has been focusing on improving its service levels in recent years. It has established dedicated service groups that facilitate the entire administrative circle, from agreements signing to construction and to the operation of major plants.
The polyethylene fiber plant is on a site covering 30 hectares and the projected annual output of fiber will be 20,000 metric tons.
According to officials, in all the development zone will see seven manufacturing projects costing a combined 22 billion yuan break ground in the second half of the year.
