Yangkou Port – located in Rudong county of Nantong city, East China's Jiangsu province – received its first LNG tanker of 2022 on Jan 2, with the vessel GOLAR CELSIUS berthed at the port's PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal.
In May 2011, PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal began operations as a national key energy project. To date, the terminal has received and unloaded 507 LNG tankers from 25 different countries and regions including Qatar, Australia and Russia.
According to officials, the terminal has exported 60 billion cubic meters of natural gas thus far, providing clean energy for the green transformation and high-quality economic development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
In 2021, the terminal received and unloaded a total of 87 LNG tankers with the annual volume of natural gas received and unloaded by the terminal exceeding 10 billion cu m for the first time, an equivalent to the current loading capacity of 100 conventional mainstream ships in the world.
The Yamal project is the first large energy cooperation project implemented in Russia after China proposed the Belt and Road Initiative. It is located in the Arctic Circle of Russia. And the project's first ship to China was received by the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal on July 19, 2018.
Starting from scratch, the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal has developed into the country's first 10-million-ton-level LNG receiving, unloading, storage and supply base in 10 years.
