The Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone – located in Rudong county,  Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – on Nov 22-24 witnessed the signing of 10 industrial investment projects and one industrial investment funding project that will be based there.

Worth a total investment of 9.5 billion yuan ($1.49 billion), the projects mainly involve new energy, new materials and other industries.

Chen Lei, deputy Party secretary of Rudong county, praised the development zone's achievement in bringing in the projects.

In recent years – by developing itself as a national demonstration area – Rudong has been making greater efforts to develop its marine economy and green energy.

With its unique geographical advantages, Yangkou Port is absorbing Shanghai's commercial and industrial transfers, making it a pressing spot for investment, Chen added.
