Rudong county, administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province, has forged ahead in building itself into a national model city for green energy. On Nov 11, the county signed agreements with the energy investment commission of the Investment Association of China (IAC) and China Tianying Inc. (CNTY) to establish a zero-carbon energy center there.

In recent years, with the aim of building a national demonstration area for green energy, Rudong has been making efforts to develop its marine economy and green energy. A new-energy industrial layout dominated by wind power generation, wind power equipment manufacturing, and liquefied natural gas has formed, generating annual taxable sales of nearly 60 billion yuan ($9.4 billion).

Aiming to promote the transformation of energy development in China, the energy investment commission of the IAC has been serving as a bridge between governments and enterprises, boosting the green development of energy industries, and striving to develop the "zero-carbon" industry with the goal of peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.

As a global environment service provider, CNTY, based in Hai'an, Nantong, has founded two subsidiaries engaged in environmental protection and contributed to Rudong's environmental work.

According to the agreements, the three sides will work together to push forward the development of the Yangtze River Delta regional zero-carbon energy center, which includes an energy storage center, a hydrogen energy center, a zero-carbon energy internet center and an intelligent network center. A zero-carbon industry investment fund will also be launched.
