The PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal at Yangkou port in Rudong county – administered by Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – on Oct 22 welcomed its 70th LNG tanker, the Rasheeda, from Qatar.
The terminal has thus far received and unloaded more than 5.5 million tons of LNG and exported 7.67 billion cubic meters of natural gas this year.
According to officials, there are also two LNG tankers now awaiting berthing orders at the outer anchorage, with the terminal planning to unload them this month – to ensure a storage capacity of more than 75 percent to provide the gas supplies in the Yangtze River Delta during winter.
In addition, in order to ensure sufficient natural gas supplies in the coming heating season, staff members at the LNG terminal are carrying out inspections and maintenance of key equipment.
