Wang Hui, Party secretary of Nantong and Wu Xinming, acting mayor of the city, signed an important infrastructure accord on Sept 23 when they met Wang Chuandong, vice general manager of China Resources Group – who is also chairman of the board of China Resources Power Holdings Co Ltd and China Resources Gas Group Limited.
The parties held talks on further expanding and upgrading cooperation levels. As a result, they signed an agreement on the expansion of the Yangkou Port LNG terminal in Rudong county in Nantong city – located in East China's Jiangsu province.
Wang Hui said that with the in-depth implementation of national strategies – such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, as well as the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region – high-end resources were increasingly being located in Nantong.
These were providing more opportunities for companies, including China Resources Group, to invest and develop in the city.
Wang Chuandong praised Nantong's geographical advantages, as well as its business environment and development potential – saying he had strong confidence in the company's development in Nantong.
China Resources Group is one of the key State-owned backbone enterprises and its gas, land, electric power, medicine and other ventures have all invested in Nantong, according to officials.
The LNG terminal expansion project for Yangkou Port includes six LNG storage tanks, as well as a docking and unloading berth with support facilities.
