The huge ZTT Fishing and Solar System in the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone – located in Rudong county, Nantong, in East China's Jiangsu province – generated a total of 45.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first five months of the current year, local media reported.
The system – which stretches 8 kilometers along the beach at Yangkou Port – integrates fish farming with solar power panel generation, which is understood to be eco-friendly and has multiple functions.
The fourth phase of the project was completed on June 30, 2018 and the station currently has an installed capacity of 76 megawatts which is fully connected to the national grid. Plans are for the ZTT project to build a 150 mW solar power park.
At present, the annual power generation of the system has reached 87.4 million kWh, achieving carbon dioxide emission reduction of 90,000 tons, equivalent to the afforestation of 9,800 hectares.
