The project is jointly funded by Rudong People's Hospital and Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone, with a total investment of 450 million yuan ($68 million).

The general plan for the hospital is to have 800 beds and more than 20 professional departments such as prevention and healthcare, internal medicine, surgery and critical care medicine.
