The cross-border e-commerce transaction volume in Nantong, Jiangsu province, increased by 73.6 percent year-on-year in the first seven months of the year.
Since the beginning of this year, Nantong has actively promoted the integrated development of cross-border e-commerce and related industries. The city has strategically developed 10 industrial belts dedicated to cross-border e-commerce, creating a robust infrastructure to support international trade. Nantong has also attracted significant projects, such as the establishment of the East China regional operations center for Russia's Wildberries.
Additionally, Nantong has organized a comprehensive range of activities, including overseas warehouse supply-demand matchmaking events, providing strong support for the ongoing digital transformation of local industries, as well as fostering their high-quality development of traditional industries.
Nantong Xiaosheng Information Technology Co is a specialized company focused on the cross-border e-commerce sector in the home textile industry. Over the years, the company has built a strong presence in both the European and North American markets. Currently, Nantong Xiaosheng operates multiple branded online stores across major international e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, Walmart, and eBay.
Leveraging the strategic advantages inherent in Nantong's home textile industrial chain, coupled with its well-established overseas warehouse infrastructure, the company has positioned itself as a comprehensive provider in the industry. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary in the United States, the company offers an integrated, one-stop service platform that encompasses design innovation, warehousing solutions, and efficient distribution channels to meet the diverse needs of its global clients.
In the first seven months of the year, the company's cross-border e-commerce transaction volume has demonstrated significant growth, increasing by 10 percent compared to the same period last year. This positive trend reflects the company's strengthening market position and operational capabilities. Looking ahead, the company projects an annual transaction volume reaching approximately 200 million yuan ($28.08 million).
"Overseas warehouses are crucial for cross-border e-commerce and they are a new type of foreign trade infrastructure. Moving forward, the company will focus on new product development and deepen its market presence in key regions, helping 'made in Nantong' go globally," said Ma Xiaodong, Xiaosheng's operations manager.
Huang Yue, director of the Foreign Trade Department of the Nantong municipal bureau of commerce, said the city's strategic initiatives are aimed at bolstering its cross-border e-commerce sector.
Huang emphasized that the upcoming focus will be on the development of a comprehensive, municipal-level cross-border e-commerce industrial park designed to serve as a hub for innovation and growth, aiming to establish 50 benchmark enterprises and 50 demonstration brands within the framework of 10 designated cross-border e-commerce industrial belts, positioning the city as a significant player in the global digital trade landscape.
