NETDA's 1st innovative medical device ready for market
The National Medical Products Administration recently approved the market launch of the "Pulmonary Artery Thrombectomy Stent System", which was independently developed by Sirius Medtech Co in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA).
Since its establishment in NETDA in 2021, Sirius Medtech has quickly integrated into the local pharmaceutical industry ecosystem with its core technological advantages in cardiovascular interventional devices.
"This pulmonary artery thrombectomy stent system took more than three years to develop, involving clinical trials in 13 tertiary hospitals across the country and over 120 patients," said Liang Yuchen, general manager of Sirius Medtech. "Our innovative design significantly enhances thrombus removal efficiency while reducing the risk of vascular injury."
As the center of the biopharmaceutical industry in Nantong, NETDA has consistently prioritized the medical device industry as a strategic emerging industry in recent years.
To date, the area has attracted 25 medical device manufacturing enterprises, covering multiple segments such as high-end interventional devices, in vitro diagnostic reagents, and medical consumables, with a total industry output value of approximately 1.15 billion yuan ($161.46 million) in 2024.
