Magic paper by NETDA firm steals spotlight at Shanghai book fair

Kingwills Advanced Materials Co Ltd, a company based in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, showcased books and creative products made from a unique type of paper that cannot be torn at the 20th Shanghai Book Fair, which was held from Aug 14 to 20.

This special "indestructible paper" is made from Hypak™ material, featuring a special long-fiber structure that combines the qualities of non-woven fabric, paper, and film. It is lightweight and soft but incredibly strong, with the ability to block solid and liquid molecules while allowing gas molecules to pass through. Additionally, the Hypak™ material is waterproof, breathable, durable, non-toxic, eco-friendly, and recyclable.

Chen Boyi, the founder and chairman, highlighted the company's focus on the publishing industry, having engaged in discussions with several renowned publishing houses. At the recent Beijing International Book Fair, Chen showcased this innovative technology, emphasizing its potential in the domestic publishing market, especially for children's books known for being washable, tear-resistant, and environmentally friendly.

In 2019, as the company's technology matured and expansion became necessary. It faced challenges in selecting a suitable factory location, but after thorough evaluation, NETDA emerged as its top choice.

Since establishing operations in Nantong, the company has achieved significant success in various prominent events by leveraging the Hypak™ technology, enhancing its reputation and showcasing its innovative capabilities.

Chen emphasized the significance of breaking barriers in the industry, positioning Chinese enterprises as leaders in the field of new materials. Beyond traditional applications, the company is also actively exploring new avenues. In April of this year, its Hypak™ medical product line covered all three categories of medical device packaging, marking a milestone in the domestic medical device packaging sector.

As part of its future vision, Kingwills aims to forge partnerships with leading enterprises across industries, continuously expanding the boundaries of new material innovation and application and ensuring its products find applications across a diverse array of sectors.
