The eastern hospital of the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University has recently entered its second phase of trial operations.
The 10,000-square-meter central operating room at the hospital consists of 41 operating zones, including nine digital operating rooms and one with a Da Vinci robot-assisted surgical system.
The Da Vinci robot features 3D high-definition vision and its robot arms can operate flexibly in a 360-degree space, offering patients more accurate treatment, smaller wounds, and faster recovery, noted Shi Jiahai, director of the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University.
Intelligent inpatient wards are another highlight of the new hospital. The advanced technological equipment and systems at the wards created a very convenient and comfortable environment for inpatients.
An inpatient surnamed Wang shared his experience, saying that using a touch screen, he can conveniently enjoy meals, shop, pay bills, and more, without having to wait or travel around.
Zhang Jiajia, the hospital's nursing supervisor, noted that the intelligent wards are expected to help nurses focus more on bedside care, and in the future, they will explore and utilize more innovative technologies to offer patients even better medical services.
