Foreign trade enterprises thrive in Tongzhou
In recent years, Nantong's Tongzhou district has experienced rapid growth in foreign trade, giving rise to numerous outstanding enterprises.
One such standout is Nantong Sutong Separation Technology Co Ltd, a national high-tech production company. Evolving from offline foreign trade to the realm of e-commerce, the company witnessed a significant surge in orders from Russia and countries in the Middle East. The company's cross-border exports soared from 14 million yuan ($1.95 million) in 2022 to 36 million yuan in 2023, constituting 12 percent of the total sales.
Nantong Fengyun Auto Parts Co Ltd operates primarily as a wholesale pure e-commerce entity. Serving overseas clients by placing orders with domestic suppliers and finding international buyers for new products from domestic manufacturers, the company expanded its customer base from Europe and America to the Middle East, Russia, and South Africa. With an average annual sales growth of around 25 percent, the company's cross-border sales exceeded 12 million yuan in 2023.
General Manager of the company Ji Yunfeng stated their commitment to continue developing new channels, expanding into broader overseas markets, and aiming for a cross-border sales target of 15 million yuan in the coming two years.
As of now, Tongzhou has 48 registered cross-border e-commerce businesses, with 24 production-oriented enterprises venturing into cross-border e-commerce in 2022.
In 2023, Tongzhou's cross-border e-commerce export tax rebate amounted to $26.03 million, marking a 44.01 percent year-on-year increase.
