New projects thrive in Tongzhou
Tongzhou district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has become the site of a large number of new projects this year.
Official statistics show that the district has introduced 18 new projects, each backed by over 30 million yuan ($4.24 million) in investment, and started construction on 16 projects.
The project backed by Nantong Zhongtai Intelligent Package Technology Co Ltd recently started construction.
According to local authorities, it took only three months for the project to go from the information-gathering stage to formal signing, the fastest time ever for investment negotiations in Tongzhou.
So far this year, the district has dispatched delegations to attract investment from cities such as Suzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen, and has obtained 66 pieces of valid project information, according to the head of the Tongzhou investment service center.
The district currently has 39 projects under negotiation, with several deals for projects related to automotive parts manufacturing and proton equipment manufacturing about to be signed.
As an important part of promoting industrial development in the district, the Nantong High-tech Industrial Development Zone carried out investment system reforms at the beginning of this year.
For example, the investment promotion team in the zone has been divided into three groups to further enhance their competitive spirit and efficiency in attracting projects.
Shigang town in Tongzhou has also achieved many accomplishments in attracting projects this year.
In the first quarter, the town signed a contract for a project worth over 500 million yuan.
Additionally, the town has secured investment intentions for two projects worth 1 billion yuan and 500 million yuan, respectively. The signing and registration of these projects are currently being negotiated.
