In a bid to further expand the influence of its new-generation information technology and other related industries in Shanghai and surrounding areas, the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone – located in the Tongzhou district of Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – held a promotional conference on July 20 in Shanghai.
As the only State-level high-tech zone in Nantong, the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone has pushed to build the new-generation IT industry as one of its primary sectors. After years of development, it is understood to have attracted a raft of enterprises engaged in integrated circuits, electronic circuits, electronic parts and components.
"Under the circumstances, almost all industries were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic but the new-generation IT industry achieved growth of 44.2 percent in taxable sales last year, showing a good momentum for development," said Gao Hongjun, executive deputy secretary of the Party working committee of the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
The Integrated Circuit Components Industry Park, jointly developed by the National Integrated Circuit Components Innovation Alliance and the Nantong High-tech Zone, was inaugurated last October, attracting a number of industry leaders to settle there.
With its favorable conditions, the industry park is seen as providing a broad space for the transfer of the IC industry in the Yangtze River Delta region, according to Zhang Ling, executive deputy head of the management committee of the Nantong High-tech Zone.
