The Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone – located in the Tongzhou district of Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – launched an employment promotion program on March 20, expected to help it resident companies resolve their labor shortages, among other things.
Through the program it organized six businesses within its jurisdiction to participate in a dedicated jobs fair held on the same day for college students who are set to graduate in the current academic year.
Participating enterprises brought more than 300 job opportunities to the fair. They included Nantong Unitech Electronics, Nantong Jianghai Energy Storage Technology, Hongbang Die Casting, Budweiser, Neovoltaic and Haohan Information Technology.
It reportedly took nearly two months for the zone's economics development bureau to complete preparations for the employment promotion program.
The bureau collected recruitment information on more than 1,000 job opportunities from nearly 100 enterprises and contacted 25 colleges and universities, according to the job requirements. It also organized on-site communications between 35 enterprises with large labor demand and five colleges and universities whose graduates are highly matched to the jobs.
It is understood that the zone has always taken resolving the employment difficulties of its residents as a key role in optimizing its business environment and improving its services.
In recent years, it has actively organized campus recruitment drives, social recruitments, third-party recruitment events and other recruiting activities, as well as rolled out policies and measures to effectively resolve any labor shortage problems as well as high staff turnover issues for businesses resident in the zone.
