Aptiv Connection Systems (Nantong) Ltd won more orders from its global customers despite the adverse effect of the pandemic thanks to the superb quality of its products.
The foreign-funded enterprise was established through asset and business reorganization of the original Delphi enterprise and is located in the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. It mainly produces safety restraint system (SRS) connectors, and its products are in a leading position in the global airbag wire harness field.
At present, the company's products are used by 36 well-known manufacturers of equipment, vehicles and wiring harnesses.
There are a large number of automated, information-based production lines operating to fulfill the orders, according to Hao Xiaobo, the company's quality system director. Fourteen fully automatic production lines have been imported from foreign countries; each of them equipped with error-proofing monitoring devices. They have saved labor costs and improved product quality.
Each production line has dozens of monitoring stations that in one second can discover and remove substandard products, according to Hao. Previously a production line required five operators but now only one person and a monitoring computer are needed.
At present, the company's equipment automation rate is over 80 percent and the informatization coverage rate is over 85 percent.
The company received the Tongzhou District People's Government Quality Award last year and has won numerous honorary titles such as provincial enterprise technology center.
Last year, the company's main business revenue hit 820 million yuan ($125.5 million), ranking fourth in the national automotive connector industry. This year's annual sales are expected to exceed 1 billion yuan.
