Chen Yong, Party secretary of Haimen district in Nantong, together with officials from relevant departments and townships, visited Haimen Dearshiqiao International Home Textiles Industrial Zone on Aug 5 to inspect progress in the construction of major projects which started in the first half year of 2020.

Chen gave full recognition to the scheduling of the projects and expected the park to introduce more high-end industrial projects and boost high-quality development.

Construction on two projects, with investment exceeding 1 billion yuan ($144 million), started in the first six months of 2020. The South Bedding high-end home textile project is one of them. Covering 3.8 hectares, it is designed to be a modern home textile manufacturing area themed on happiness culture and integrating brand display, cultural creativity, research and development, intelligent manufacturing and smart logistics.

Starting in June 2020, it is scheduled to complete civil engineering in December 2021, with equipment arriving in June 2022. The project is expected to produce 1.5 million sets of bedding products annually, which will achieve taxable sales of 600 million yuan.

The other 1-billion-yuan project is the Dearshiqiao Textile Technology Entrepreneurship Park. With two billion yuan of investment from Jiangsu Dearshiqiao Textile Technology Co Ltd, the project covers 8 ha and is targeted at further improving the home textile industrial chain in Dearshiqiao through building an industrial gathering park.

The entrepreneurship park will promote high-end textile transformation from textiles to intelligent manufacturing through cultivating carriers, government-enterprise cooperation and providing scientific and technological services.
