Chongchuan district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province has identified innovation and high technology as the main drivers of industrial development.

As of the end of 2021, the district had 369 high-tech enterprises. This year, 357 enterprises in Chongchuan applied to become national high-tech enterprises.

To boost high-tech development in the district, Chongchuan authorities have introduced more than 140 high-tech enterprises and cultivated over 900 high-tech enterprises.

Among the high-tech enterprises in Chuongchuan is Jiangsu Auto Electronic Control System Technology Co Ltd (AECS), which is one of the only two enterprises with independent intellectual property rights for automobile electronic control techniques in China.

The company has been lauded for breaking the monopoly that international automobile enterprises have over electronic control techniques.

To date, AECS has applied for more than 100 intellectual property rights.

In addition, authorities had earlier this year provided 220 high-tech enterprises in Chongchuan with 31.51 million yuan ($4.46 million) in special funding.
