This year, Chongchuan district began renovating the streets around 10 old residential communities to further improve the living environment.  

The upgrading and reconstruction of Jiaoyu road is one of the projects, with a total investment of about 15 million yuan ($2.07 million).  

The upgrading includes the facade of the building, the signs of shops along the street, the upgrading of paving and greenery, and the building of more than 10 sculptures and corridors.  

To showcase the cultural heritage of Jiaoyu road, district authorities and Xuetian sub-district cooperated with Jiangshu College of Engineering and Technology to upgrade the houses along the street.

So far, 40 percent of the renovation project has been completed, and it is expected to be fully completed by the end of the year.

Next, district authorities will renovate 50 old residential communities to create a more livable environment.
