The Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province announced that 18 industrial parks in the province were recently recognized as the third group of provincial characteristic innovation (industrial) demonstration parks.

The intelligent equipment industrial park in the Nantong Gangzha Economic Development Zone (GZEDZ), Chongchuan district, was the only Nantong city one included.

Centering on the target of building a smart new city, the GZEDZ has adhered to the dual-wheel driving mode that integrates advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, emphasized the two leading industries of intelligent equipment and electronic information, and sorted out upstream and downstream enterprises to complete industrial chains.

The intelligent equipment industry in the park, represented by Nantong Guosheng Electromechanical Industry Co Ltd and China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd, is on the rise.

The park's electric energy industry, represented by three conventional power plants invested and constructed by Huaneng Nantong Power Generation Co Ltd, Nantong Tiandian New Energy Co Ltd and Jiangsu Nantong Power Generation Co Ltd, is also showing sustainable development.
