Located at the intersection of Chongqing city, Hunan and Guizhou provinces, Youyang Tujia and Miao autonomous county in Chongqing enjoys a key location. However, the beautiful place has large snake populations due to its special environment.

On June 20, Jinghua Pharmaceutical Group Co Ltd, based in Nantong Gangzha Economic Development Zone, received a letter from a local 'snake doctor' named Hou Dehong, asking for help.

Hou described a harrowing situation, saying that Youyang is surrounded by mountains and has poor traffic. Many villagers have lost their lives or become disabled due to a lack of immediate medical care after being injured by snakes, and then fallen into extreme poverty.

Hou hoped that experts from Jinghua Pharmaceutical could visit to promote the use of 'snake pills' to local villagers, and provide village doctors with some technical instructions on curing snake wounds.

After careful planning, a delegation from Jinghua Pharmaceutical brought renowned Jidesheng snake pills worth nearly 10,000 yuan ($1,510), a national intangible cultural heritage, as well as Jinghua employees' caring ministrations, to Youyang on Oct 16.
