Gangzha Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has paid great attention to investing in scientific research, and made rapid progress in building a strong scientific research environment in the zone in 2019.

In 2019, investment in research and development (R&D) in the zone was reported to be 800 million yuan ($113 million), with 10 new high-tech enterprises and 610 new patents granted, including 52 new invention patents, one new provincial R&D center and 27 new industry-university-research agreements.
