CCEDZ drives growth in digital transport, pharmaceutical industries
In recent years, the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone, or CCEDZ in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been actively promoting the development of the digital transport and pharmaceutical industries within the region.
Official data reveals that in 2023, taxable sales in the area's digital transport and pharmaceutical industries reached 7 billion yuan ($972.57 million).
This year, the zone continues to attract relevant industry projects. Starting from January, investment promotion teams from CCEDZ visited cities such as Hangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, and Suzhou to negotiate projects such as a 5G communication component production base and unmanned urban distribution vehicle initiatives. In the first quarter alone, they engaged in discussions on 31 projects.
Yan Jingxiang, an official from the zone, said that this year, the zone aims to attract 26 key industrial projects throughout the year, facilitating the initiation and completion of construction for five projects each.
Furthermore, in 2024, the digital transport and pharmaceutical industries in the zone are striving for a production value increase of over 20 percent.
