Chongchuan excels in boosting high-quality development
Chongchuan district, located in Nantong, Jiangsu province, witnessed significant strides in high-quality development in 2023, making progress in both economic growth and residents' well-being.
The regional gross domestic product of the district in 2023 is expected to reach 175 billion yuan ($24.31 billion), marking a 6 percent growth. Meanwhile, the per capita disposable income for urban residents in Chongchuan is expected to reach 68,800 yuan, the highest in the city.
Economic advancements can be attributed to the progress across multiple industries, with notable contributions from strategic emerging industries and high-tech sectors. These sectors accounted for 40 percent and 61.6 percent, respectively, of the district’s overall industrial output value in 2023.
While emphasizing economic growth, Chongchuan continues to enhance the living environment for residents. In 2023, the entire district completed a new batch of 40 projects for the renovation of old residential areas.
Recently, the list of provincial-level livable demonstration residential areas for 2022 was announced, with a handful of residential communities within the district making the cut. This brings the district's total to 12 provincial-level livable demonstration residential areas, securing its leading position in the city.
