Characteristic intangible cultural heritage items from Chongchuan district, Nantong, Jiangsu province recently took center stage at the country's inaugural specialty museum creative market, which was organized by the Chinese National Geography and Chinese Heritage magazines and held from Dec 15 to 17.

A total of 41 museums and cultural institutions, along with 16 traditional Chinese brand stalls and heritage vendors, were invited to the event. Among the participants were three of Chongchuan's standout cultural representatives: the Nantong Momei Embroidery Training Center, Nantong-style Furniture Museum, and the Nantong Enamel Color Art Museum.

The museums showcased double-sided embroidery car hangings, silk embroidered scarf gift boxes, decorative double-sided embroidered items, innovative furniture creations, and colorful enamel tea sets at the market, attracting much attention from visitors.

"It's been amazing to see the enthusiasm from visitors who are eager to capture photos and learn more about our cultural heritage," said Yan Wei, director of the Chongchuan Cultural Center. According to Yan, the market opened up several collaboration opportunities for the heritage projects.

In recent years, Chongchuan has made significant strides in promoting and supporting its intangible cultural heritage initiatives. Currently, the district boasts 72 representative heritage projects and is home to 73 distinguished heritage practitioners.
