The signing ceremony for the L'Oréal China Luxe Intelligent Fulfillment Center was held in Chongchuan district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on March 24.

The center is the first project in Chongchuan that is backed by the Fortune Global 500 company from Europe. Construction of the facility will begin in 2024.

The 45,000-square-meter facility will be equipped with the world's leading advanced logistics and robot technologies, and be used to support the online and offline sales of L'Oréal's high-end cosmetics. It is expected to become operational in 2025.

The intelligent fulfillment center will be the second one of its kind in China.

Fabrice Megarbane, president of L'Oréal North Asia Zone and the chief executive officer of L'Oréal China, said during the ceremony that the facility represents the company's first investment in China this year.

He added that the center marks the starting point of a new journey in the company's development in China for the next 25 years.

Megarbane said that the company will further deepen its investment in the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong region, and is aiming to make the region a benchmark for the operation and development of the beauty industry in North Asia.

Joan Valadou, consul general of the Republic of France in Shanghai, said that the new facility shows the confidence that French enterprises have in the Chinese market. He noted that Nantong is located in the Yangtze River Delta Region, which is one of the regions that French investors have been flocking to.

Chen Dongmei, vice-mayor of Nantong, said that the facility will promote the high-quality development of L'Oréal in the Chinese market.

She said that Nantong and Chongchuan district will provide comprehensive supporting facilities, favorable policies, and efficient services to ensure the success of the project.
