Nameplates of Chongchuan and Haimen districts officially unveiled
The nameplates of Chongchuan and Haimen districts in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province were officially unveiled on July 28, marking the two districts entering a brand new development period.
With the approval of the State Council, the administrative divisions of Nantong were adjusted. The former Chongchuan and Gangzha districts were abolished and a new Chongchuan district was established. With that change, the district people's government is now located at No 44 Taowu Road in Hongqiao sub-district.
The former county-level city Haimen was abolished and Haimen district was newly established. The Haimen district people's government is now located at No 600 Beijing Middle Road in Haimen sub-district.
Xu Huimin, Party secretary of Nantong, pointed out that the inauguration of the new Chongchuan and Haimen districts is a milestone in Nantong's development history. The administrative division change of two districts and one county-level city is an important measure to optimize the spatial layout of the city, and helps implement the national strategy of Yangtze River Delta integration and construct the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
