Eight parks in Haimen district have been selected for the first list of city parks by Nantong Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-rural Development.

Five parks, including Dongzhou, Jianghai and Jiangong Lake Ecological Park, were designated as large comprehensive parks, while three, including Zhaozhou Park were designated as community parks.

Large comprehensive parks feature extensive green spaces, rich ecosystems and a full range of leisure, sports and family facilities. They also serve as key venues for showcasing the city's landscape. On the other hand, community parks are smaller, located near residential areas and making them accessible within walking distance.

Haimen has focused on developing large comprehensive parks such as Jiangong Lake Ecological Park and Dongzhou Park to strengthen the city's core green infrastructure, while also repurposing vacant corners into community parks and green spaces.
