Fiber optic project inks deal in Haimen
A signing ceremony for a fiber optic preform R&D and production project was held in Haimen district, Nantong, on July 27.

Covering an area of 50 mu (3.33 hectares), the project is backed by a total investment of $50 million from Jiangsu Sterlite Fiber Technology.
Jiangsu Sterlite, founded in 2011 and owned by global fiber-optic leader Sterlite Electric, is a high-tech, provincial-level specialized, and sophisticated small and medium-sized enterprise. The company operates an integrated line spanning core rod, preform as well as optical fiber, and it has filed a total of 84 patents.
Rahul Puri, CEO of the parent firm, and Balaji, general manager of Jiangsu Sterlite, attended the ceremony.
They highlighted Haimen's location, industrial strengths and support services, pledging to advance the project and boost Haimen's next-generation IT sector.
