Scania Group recently launched the regional debut and product experience event for its Next Era heavy truck, attracting more than 2,500 truck users and industry partners from across China.
Designed specifically for China's long-haul transportation market, the new heavy truck is manufactured in Rugao, showcasing the city's growing strength in advanced manufacturing.
As the first heavy truck in Scania Group's history to feature Chinese branding, it is equipped with a new-generation low-speed, high-torque engine, an intelligent transmission system and optimized aerodynamic design, significantly improving fuel efficiency. Road test data showed the vehicle can reduce operating costs by 12 to 20 percent in China's long-distance freight transport scenarios.
In terms of safety, it can be equipped with advanced driver assistance systems integrating active safety support, lateral and longitudinal vehicle control and driver condition monitoring. These functions help improve driving safety, reduce fatigue during long-haul operations, and further optimize fuel consumption performance.
Volker Hillmann, executive director and general manager of Next Era Truck Sales & Services, said at the event that the company would continue to deepen its presence in China's long-haul transport market, strengthen product competitiveness and improve its nationwide service network, aiming to become a reliable long-term partner for transport operators in China.
A nationwide sales and service network for Next Era heavy trucks has already been established in China.
