NTU International Symphony Orchestra shines at Shanghai music festival

The Nantong University International Symphony Orchestra captivated audiences with a special concert at the 41st Shanghai Spring International Music Festival, held from March 26 to April 12.
Under the baton of Roberto Fiore, a distinguished Italian conductor and professor at NTU who also serves as the orchestra's music director and chief conductor, the performance was a remarkable showcase of talent.
Featuring over 80 Chinese and international students and faculty musicians, the orchestra delivered a symphonic feast characterized by its exceptional professional skills, stage coordination and rich artistic expression.
The concert's program was thoughtfully curated, presenting 14 outstanding works by both Chinese and international composers. It celebrated the contemporary spirit of original Chinese symphonic compositions while also highlighting the timeless allure of Western classical masterpieces, weaving a musical tapestry that bridges East and West and connects past and present.
The concert was met with enthusiastic acclaim across various sectors of society. Experts from major professional symphony orchestras across China, along with guests from Shanghai's cultural and educational circles, lauded the concert's artistic excellence, the orchestra's overall strength and the significant contributions of comprehensive universities in promoting high art and fostering international aesthetic education.
