The morel mushroom planting base in Gongwang village, Dayu town, Rudong, Jiangsu province, has welcomed its first harvest season of the year.

The planting has injected new vitality into the industrial vitalization of this traditional agricultural village.

This is Chen Jie's fifth year planting morel mushrooms, a local grower who owns 32 greenhouses. The main variety he planted is "Liumei", which is highly favored by the market.

Morel mushrooms, considered a rare and sought-after edible species, have stringent requirements for their growth environment. Successful cultivation is contingent upon the precise coordination of temperature, light, air and humidity.

Chen has embraced advanced planting techniques tailored to the local climate and soil conditions. He employs a temperature-control system that features sunshade nets and grass curtains, along with atomization and overhead spraying. This approach maintains the greenhouse temperature within the ideal range for cultivating morel mushrooms.

In recent years, the village has relied on high-standard farmland construction, continuously improved agricultural infrastructure, and the development of characteristic and efficient agriculture.

The characteristic planting area of the whole village has currently exceeded 66.67 hectares, forming an industrial pattern dominated by broccoli and morel mushrooms, and a coordinated development of characteristic fruits such as white jade loquat and chocolate-colored, crispy persimmon.
