Rugao has been selected for the 2025 provincial pilot program to support the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The pilot program in Rugao focuses on two industrial clusters: new power and new energy equipment, and high-end equipment manufacturing.
Leveraging its strategic location, port resources, business-friendly environment, and solid industrial base, Rugao has long focused on developing ultra-high-voltage power transmission and transformation equipment.
Centered on the Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Rugao High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the cluster has developed a well-structured industrial ecosystem marked by scale concentration and dense enterprise participation. Products such as SF6 circuit breakers and current transformers rated at 550 kilovolts and below remain at the forefront of both Chinese and international markets.
The high-end equipment manufacturing cluster spans key segments, including complete chemical equipment sets, hydraulic equipment, specialized machinery, and critical components. As the cluster continues to scale and strengthen its enterprise pipeline, it is increasingly working in synergy with related industries such as power equipment, automobiles, and auto parts.
Together, these industrial clusters are expected to play a pivotal role in advancing digital transformation among local SMEs, injecting new momentum into Rugao's high-quality economic development.
