Chongchuan hosts cooking competition to boost 'food tourism'
The first semi-final of the "Taste Chongchuan" cooking competition was held in Tangzha Beishi Scenic Area on Nov 30, attracting many food enthusiasts.
Ten contestants competed on the same stage, where they boldly innovated while inherited the tradition. One after another, dishes with perfect color, aroma, and taste were cooked, with fragrant aromas filling the competition arena. After fierce competition, five restaurants including Wenfeng Restaurant and Shao Dongjia advanced to the finals.
Zhong Su, deputy director of Chongchuan district's commerce bureau, said that the competition aims to discover and promote local master chefs and Chongchuan's unique cuisine, strengthening the "Chongchuan Cuisine" brand and making it a new highlight to attract tourists and boost consumption.
The competition consists of two semi-finals and one final. Future events will be held in Langshan Mountain Scenic Area and Nantong's urban area, allowing both participants and visitors to experience a beautiful blend of history and local culture, promoting the integrated development of culture, commerce, and tourism.
