Yangkou Port in Rudong, East China's Jiangsu province, was bustling due to the arrival of the Yangtai container liner on Nov 16, which has been operating for over a month.

Since the launch of the Yangtai container route on Sept 26, great progress has been made in container transport for Yangkou Port.

The new route connects Yangkou Port with Taicang Port, utilizing an advanced information platform for seamless integration of vessel dynamics and cargo information, significantly reducing port time.

Hong Xiaogang, deputy general manager of Gold Hongye Paper (Nantong), said that the container route allows for goods to be shipped by sea directly to Taicang Port for further international shipment, optimizing the land-sea intermodal transport model.

Starting from Lianyungang in Jiangsu province, the container route calls at Yancheng Dafeng Port and Yangkou Port before reaching Taicang Port, covering approximately 159 kilometers in about 12 hours.

Operating on a weekly fixed schedule, it ensures service stability and reliability. Its key advantage lies in its strong international connectivity, facilitating swift transfers to international routes serving regions like Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and East India.

Niu Jianping, vice-chairman of Nanjing Port Group, emphasized that the container route is not just a land-to-sea feeder line but a critical logistics artery linking the Yangtze River Economic Belt with the coastal economic belt.

It enhances the connectivity between coastal areas of Jiangsu and Yangtze River hub, promoting the integration of the Yangtze River Delta ports and advancing the modernization of the logistics system, Niu added.
